2012 TARMAC CHALLENGE

A guy called Stuart Morrisey (aka Madrider1961) will be setting out from his hometown of Plymouth on an epic journey to raise funds for The Royal British Legion (Riders Branch) Poppy Appeal to help service men, women and their families.

Madrider1961 is registered disabled and rides with three slipped discs in his lower spine, a damaged disc in his neck and a knee injury. His challenge this year is to visit as many Army, Navy, Royal Air Force, US Air Force and MOD bases in England, Scotland and Wales as he can between the 5 th and 15 th of July 2012.

I can tell you might be thinking, ' oh here we go again, another fund raising ride' , and yes, you can be forgiven for thinking along those lines as there seem to be ever more such events these days, but, and this is a BIG BUT, Madrider196 will be undertaking the challenge on his trusty steed - a Honda CG 125!

Throughout his challenge Madrider1961 will be accompanied by his back - up team travelling in a Ford Transit and, hopefully, fellow bikers will join him en route.

Stuart intends to visit MOD St Athan on the 5 th July 2012 and the bikers on camp are keen to publicise his challenge in the hope of boosting the funds raised.

Check out Stuart Morrisey's website at www.madrider1961.co.uk for further details, including his route around the UK.
